"Since the release of the Spider-Man movie, there's been no bigger Spider-Man event...until now!"
VOLUME, a four-piece band from Winnipeg, Canada, has just released their much anticipated CD, entitled "The Amazing Spider-Band." With the permission and support of Ray Ellis, the original composer of the music from the 60's Spider-Man cartoon series, VOLUME has re-created those classic tunes...including the theme song!
Envision Spider-Man swinging through the streets, senses tingling, taking on Kingpin, Sandman, Electro, Venom!! Listen to this disc and you'll get the picture.
Spider-fans, you've heard the official soundtrack, now hear the real deal! Countless hours pouring over old VHS tapes, travelling to Los Angeles for valuable input from Ray Ellis, enlisting the perfect brass players, all contribute to a remarkable re-recording of the music of the 60's Spider-Man animated cartoon. Whether or not you're a collector or just a plain music lover, do yourself a favor and give VOLUME, "The Amazing Spider-Band" a spin!

Great music
author: Ken DI hope these guys release more! The music certainly made the series for me, and was the most memorable aspect of the show.
Fantastic
author: Matt MI waited for a long time to get a copy of this album and it was worth it. This is more than just a rehash - it's the version of the music that would have been produced today.

Unbelievavle jazzed-up version of unrecognized Ray Ellis and Harris masterpieces. There is so much more work by those legends (Ellis/Harris) should should also be done ("Spider-Band II"). I believe that some stock music was also used in the Spider-man (and Rocket Robin Hood) series of the 60s and 70s was from composer Sam Spence (of NFL Films fame) and should also be reproduced in some way. I would also suggest that the Amazing Spider-Band should make some negotiaion with Avi Rad of the Spider-man Movies of the future to include some of these music themes in Spider-man IV, V etc. Keep up the great work
classic!
it's better than nothing; much better in fact!!
author: aluntil the original music from the 1967 cartoon series is released (which may be never!!!) this will have to satisfy me. it really is a good thing that this volume band did. too bad it's out of print.
This music has got to be part of Spider - Man 3!
author: Spidey 67 fan foreverWhy didn't Danny Elfman incorporate this in the sound track? This is one CD I am going to buy and I hope that the director puts this one in the next Spidey movie because is by far the best and only music that should be in the movie!
Fantastic!
author: DonIf you're a real fan of the old Spider-man cartoon, you *will* buy this CD! I am hoping for a second one that will include some songs that are missing.
s u b l i m e . . .
True believers -this is your album!!!

Wallopin' Web-snappers! I love it!!
author: BC DaileyGimme a bowl of Cap'n Crunch and my footy pojamas and I'm all set! This CD actually brought tears to my eyes from all of the wonderful memories of watching my favorite wall crawling hero take on the bad guys! I've looked for years for any collection of the excellent composer Ray Ellis' music from the classic Spider-Man show, and now I have it in my hot little hands, finely arranged and composed by those brave Spider-fans of Volume! Heaven-sent! Only a month or so until the classic toons are out on DVD, and then it's off to the theater to see Spidey take on Doc Ock. When I see it on the big sceen, I'll be sure to provide my own soundrack, thanks to my iPod and the Amazing Spider-Band!

An excellent CD, a dream come true. The music and performance is impeccable. My only complaint about the CD is that it's too short! I want more!
Memories of PB & J
author: ScottWhen I was young, I used to watch the classic Spidey at lunch time, sitting on the floor with a friend, eating our PB & J sandwiches. Now as an adult I realize that it is hard to recapture that innocence that I had... Not anymore! As soon as I got my Spider-Band CD, I popped it into my player, and cranked it up and listened to it as I prepared my dinner (not PB & J). As it played through, I didn't quite recognize every song, until they played part of the way through, then suddenly all of those old memories came back to me. Electro trying to fry our favorite web crawler, Mysterio, the Rhino, Dimentia 5... It all came back and I started to laugh as each track came on. Picturing Spidey swinging his way above the city (perhaps attached to clouds or low flying airplanes) made me feel good, safe and young again. I guess it can never truly be that way again, but at least I can pretend. Webs don't fail me now.
A fun, snazzy sound of a very distinct program and era.
author: Sharon MacdonaldThe sounds of this cd will be perfect to accompany our summer reading theme at the library, Check out a hero! Well done.
Wow
author: Joost UeffingWow... A classic brought to life again by a great band. Keeping this one in my car for long trips.
Incredible updated music of a classic cartoon!
author: ScottA great extremely faithful rendition of this classic Spider-Man music from the greatest Spidey cartoon! A+++! I want more!! Great job to the band members and Ray Ellis for helping out!
Clark and I both enjoy this CD
author: LewisClark and I both enjoy this CD. A little different than the music we usually listen to, but it's a fun change. Outlook and the BS business may never be the same.

I just love this CD. I have very fond memories of the classic 60's Spider-Man TV show, and have kept an eye open for any sign of its phenomenal soundtrack. Alas, I have heard the original sound tapes have been lost, but this CD makes the loss tolerable. While not a replacement, the tracks on this CD do credit to the original, sending me back to a simpler age, while at the same time updating the music with a hard electronic edge. It shouldn't work, but it does, and it works well. My only complaint is that it is too short. I hope the band eventually puts out a second volume. There is too much music I seem to remember that is missing, and I would love to hear their version of it.
Awesome!
author: Andrea VailFreakin' awesome album! Thank you to Volume for bringing back the amazing music from the best Spiderman cartoon ever. When I told one of my friends about it, he couldn't believe that such an album existed until he happily heard it. Definately worth the purchase. How about another album?
brought back memories
author: supreme hydragreat but please do the pschadellic songs next time they are better songs than the first season spiderman songs thanks again for the memories
Can't get it out of my CD player
author: DAN FOREMANIncredible! I love the mix of the old jazz feel from the original soundtrack and the rock n'roll accents from Volume. I strongly recommend this CD to anyone who enjoyed the 60's Spiderman cartoon.
The new Spiderman movie soundtrack ???
author: NickThis could easily be worked into the new spiderman movie if they want to go that route. I did not see the spiderman movie but this modern take on the old tunes is a worthy update in my opinion.
Spider-Band...Spider-Band...plays whatever's on Spider-man!!!
author: P. Stephen LeeWOW!!! The music on this CD is great! Brings back wonderful memories of ol' webhead. The re-mix of all the music cues are spectacular and bang on. I've been waiting for the classic Spider-man music to be released for so long...and now, I've got my fix. Thanks Volume for the great work. Please come out with vol. 2!
Dig on this, cats... Cool!
author: BurgoaGreat!!!, I've been wondering for years, how could it be, that nobody ever tried to compilate this cool score music before, but finally it's happened with great style; every time I watch those cartoons I wonder what kind of substances all those guys were in, you know: pink stained skies, the same scene looping for 3 minutes, the Miles Davis like moods in the music... a complete psychedellic pop master-piece!. Hope T.A.S.B. doesn't take too much time to release the next volume. Ellis, you were a genious man... P.S. If you like this, try Nicola Conte and Cinematic Orchestra.
The Real Spiderman Sound Track
author: PSANTOROThis is what the Spiderman Movie sound track should have sounded like. As I Listen to this album and close my eyes I swear I'm 8 years old again. The album is very well done all the oldies are on it with a little harder and modern edge to them, which sounds awsome. Hey when is volume 2 coming out!!??
Made my spidey senses tingle!!!
author: Matt MurdockWhen I go to the gym, I put this cd on and feel like a super hero. Finally the search is over for a real spiderman soundtrack. And plus i'm sick of hearing chad krueger!

author: MICHAEL CLARK.fellas---this was really a BLAST FROM THE PAST!! i always loved the music from the 60's spider-man cartoon!!! these guys really did a fantastic job recreating the music---and expanding it!!!! there's some music-cues that were'nt there. ( HOPEFULLY THEY'LL DO A SECOND-CD!!! (HINT-HINT!! ) i found this by accident----but IT REALLY WAS A MUSICAL-BLESSING!!! THANKS SO MUCH---VOLUME & CD-BABY!!!!! MIKE CLARK!!! (NUFF-SAID!!!! )
Very Good CD
author: RJAMESThe music brings me back to days of youth when I would watch the TV series cartoon everyday...good job guys!
AT LONG LAST!!!
author: Eric LavoieWonderful opportunity this is to finally be able to hear this great Ray Ellis music. I grew up with this cool jazzy score, and everyone I know agrees this is the genre that should have been used for the film (nothing against Elfman...but not urban enough). A spectacular, amazing compromise, until Ray Ellis can release his own original tracks!!
Very cool, but left me wanting more.
author: Phil BI had been jonesing for this groovy music for years. As a kid I didn't appreciate just how cool this odd jazzy mix was, now I dig it the most. This cd included many high points, "Jameson" and "Electro" are particular faves. Some of the other incidental music I really liked from the show, was missing, as was original instrumentation, like bongos and flute. Sometimes the synth-instruments come off a bit tinny-sounding. For nice medley of some of this music, check out a CD by a band called MOLE CITY. They do an 11-minute Spider-Music-Medley that is way cool. The Amazing Spider-Band does give you a nice trip down memory lane and then some.
my expectations were totally blown out of the water!!!!
author: Brian FraserAfter I had the info I needed to obtain this incredible CD, I ordered it right away..I expected to wait for ever...But was I surprised to have it in 5 days and the CD material itself was beyond belief...Thanks for everyone involved you started my year off right! Thanks again.
The best music from an animated series ever.
author: Chris Cummins - High Maintenance magazineI told you that Spider-Man movie would suck. And suck it did, far beyond my wildest expectations. And as captivating as that scene where Norman Osborn conversed with a chair was, I just kept finding myself thinking of what a real Spidey adventure would be like. Why, it would be just like the classic 1960’s cartoon! As far as I’m concerned, there has never been an adaptation of the character that has ever come close to the comic, with the exception of those long ago animated adventures. It’s hard to say exactly what it was that made those episodes so entertaining, but the key to me was always the music. Mixing traditional jazz with a hip 60’s pop sensibility, composer Ray Ellis created the most memorable music ever featured in an animated series. Tragically, these recordings have never before been made available. Until now. Enter Canadian quartet Volume. With the master recordings either long lost or destroyed, the band had to painstakingly recreate the tracks, after getting Ellis’ blessing on the project. Their work paid off, as this music eerily replicates that of the series. Starting with a note for note recreation of the infamous opening song (still the best ever) and through several character themes, this disc is nothing less than a miracle for aspiring webheads everywhere. Put it on and pretend that lackluster blockbuster never got made.
A must have for Spider-Man fans!!!!
author: Vincent SchmittIf you love the old Spider-Man cartoon, and who doesn't, then you'll love this cd. A real Gem!!
The real sountrack!!
author: FreddieWell, the real soundtrack is here! Thanks VOLUME, whoever you are! You've given the world quite a gem.
A DREAM COME TRUE!!!!
author: Bruce ButtonI loved the Spiderman TV series music when I watched it back in the sixties and had always dreamed of a resulting album. VOLUME has finally done it! I first discovered them on Soundclick and loved their renditions immediately. I can't wait to receive my copy! A+ for us Spidey fans!
OH....MY GOD!!!!
author: BAZWow...I listened to the samples on the web site and kept listening to them all day at work, so what did I do right after work...went and bought the CD! Amazing job...
