Volume Volume (formerly Romeo Goes To Hell)
From ALBUQUERQUE NEW MEXICO USA
Up-tempo, fun, loud and raw, Volume Volume comes from the punk rock arena, but is also influenced by 80’s hair metal, power pop, new wave and indie rock. The unique sound of this band appeals to a wide range of people with various tastes while maintaining a consistent direction and musical integrity. Recordings of the band offer a chance to hear the subtler aspects incorporated in their music, while live performances exhibit infectious energy that leaves the crowd always wanting more.
The band Romeo Goes to Hell formed in Albuquerque, NM in late 2002. Founding members: Levi Eleven, Rexx Ruthless and Josh King. The three had been in other projects together in other combinations for 5 years (Lush Rustler, Coke Is Better With Bourbon, etc). Wanting to fill out their sound, they soon added Rachel Lujan on guitar, and finally solidified their lineup with Noelan Ramirez (Oh! Ranger, Weapons of Mass Destruction, Ready Samsara, Cue the Winged Serpent, etc) The current lineup: Josh (keys, beer, party starting) Levi (bass, merch, website), Rachel (guitar, hotness), Noelan (drums, respect). Everybody sings. Through the last three years Volume Volume has worked hard to become one of the most well respected and popular bands in Albuquerque.
VV has ripped up stages all over town and the Southwest, playing with such acts as The Ex-Models, Reverend Horton Heat, The Epoxies, Electric Eel Shock, Captured by Robots, TheVibrators, Texas Terri and the Stiff Ones, Bullets over Broadway, The Genetorturers, Bang! Bang! and a whole lot of other great bands.
The band has two releases out on famed Albuquerque Rock Label Socyermom Records:
SYM028 Romeo Goes To Hell -- Two Car Garage Rock c.2005
SYM038 Volume Volume -- Loud For Lovers c.2007
