Nothing snobby about this!

Remember your time at band camp? You definately did not bunk with this guy. At first glance, Von Cello may seem no more than a mere novelty - cello and rock music? Total gimmick, right? That's where you'd be wrong. Von Cello, aside from spending years of honing and developing his cool "celtar" style, is an actual, accomplished classical cello composer.
This album proves that fact by taking three, note-worthy classic rock songs, (as well as some unique orginal tunes), and making them Von Cello's own. The slow groove on the instrumental cover of the Beatle's "Dear Prudence" makes the cut, in this reviewer's opinion, much more powerful then the orginal. Von Cello takes the Dead's "The Other One" to new hights, and the frantic version of Hendrix's "Purple Haze" must be just plain possessed....as if Hendrix's version wasn't frantic enough. "Purple Haze"'s vocal delivery isn't exactly on the same level as Jimi, but it's pretty darn close. Von Cello is definately a better cellist then he is a singer.
His orginal tracks abound with thoughtful cello riffs and lyrics about finding yourself and your angels among other philosophical topics. The back-up band is right on the money.
For fans of Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa, The Beatles, Mozart, Dvorak, Manheim Steamroller and Pink Floyd.

Unbelievable! He turns a cello into a guitar!
author: Jon Feldman
From the first tune, Purple Haze, Von Cello grabs you with his intense cello playing. By playing famous cover tunes Von Cello shows that he is a master of classic rock. His original tunes are also very good, but the jams are amazing...especially when you realize this is all being done with a cello! With Excalibur, Von Cello has proved that he can pull out the sword of cello rock, a style that he seems to have invented single handedly.
