The Von Swings originally come from Oregon, South Carolina, Long Island & Ohio, respectively, and they all now call Brooklyn home. (Yes, throw a rock and hit a musician in Brooklyn, it is true. And band-leader Wanda is yet another professional musician living in that fine borough who spent her life making music for adults, who, once she had a family, started singing for and with the kids the wonderful old songs she loved and learned as a child, from her parents, in community, at school, at summer camp...she started to make up new songs as well with the kids...and she finally knew it was time to search for just the right musical comrades with whom to play these songs. With deep affection, fun, grips, chops, friendliness... and that's how the Von Swing Family was born.)
