Joel Selvin (SF Chronicle) called Mary Ann's music "arresting," her lyrics, "genius." BAM Magazine said her songs are "nakedly vulnerable ... distinctive ... convincing." Los Angeles Rock City News said this CD is "layered with blues rock rhythms ... a cross between Eric Clapton and Carly Simon...." 97.1 FM Los Angeles radio personality Sheena Metal: "Who says chick rock can't get down and dirty while still remaining clean and pristine? ...Mary Ann weaves a tale like a new millennium minstrel...!" Night Moves Magazine, Los Angeles: "...straight-forward pop...nice vocals and skillful guitar work." Fran Gray, Portland Music Central, says her subject matter of "torturous mind shadows...and the strange idiosyncrasies of human behavior" are "a celebration of love and life."
