Album Notes

Beautiful vocals, melodic tunes that stick in your head, and fun energetic instrumentation are the spine of this optimistic piece of musical art, On my mind. Folk music turns to pop with grooving rhythm, bluesy harmonica and lush piano solos. With edgy upbeat songs that give off positive vibes, and sweet lyrics leaving listeners with a good feeling, On my mind is as pure and heartfelt as it gets. With organic instrumentation fronted by Victoria's quality, come-out-and-play voice and clever ear for rocking melodies and killer harmony, Victoria is able to combine the elegance of Sarah McLaughlin with the boldness of Sheryl Crow, all while crafting a tightly produced, hook- laden pop album appealing to indie, folk, and rock fans. Victoria's On my mind takes you on an inviting journey filled with new love, blues, seduction, and blissful happiness. Though, even with a simple feel-good theme, there is a complexity and wonder about the characters behind each story. Victoria exposes intimate relationships with many of the wonderful and deceitful people that have crossed her path of life. Here is an album that will stick in your head and start each day off with a smile. The temptation to tap your toes and sing along is hard to resist. A special quality and beauty that will leave you feeling good and craving for more is what you'll find after listening to San Diego's own, Victoria Robertson.

If you like Joni Mitchell or Carly Simon, you will love this CD. All of the tracks are good, no fillers. Tracks #3 Christopher and #7 - The Prize of Life, should be top 10 hits. I have listened to this CD 40 times and have yet to tire of it.
