Album Notes

The Vulgar Bulgars are Central Virginia’s hardest working, hardest playing Klezmer group! We are a quartet of young, energetic musicians who have found our musical home in soulful Klezmer music. Our lineup is a tight combination of clarinet, fiddle, bass, and drums/percussion, and our music is mostly instrumental. We play a combination of time-honored klezmer classics and recent klezmer-inspired compositions, giving all our tunes a special Vulgar Bulgar twist. The arrangements range from “make the grandparents happy” traditional to “smoky nightclub” funky. We love to play weddings, parties, bar/bat mitvahs, brises and everything in between, so feel free to contact us at vulgarbulgars@yahoo.com. We tour frequently so be sure to check out our website for a list of live shows! (www.vulgarbulgars.com)

Ben Grondahl - Clarinet
Kassia Arbabi - Fiddle
Ezra Freeman - Upright Bass
Madog Frick - Drums/Percussion

The Vulgar Bulgars CD is fabulous. It is already downloaded to my Ipod so I can enjoy it in the car or on the run. When I heard them at Floyd Fest 2006, I knew I had to take them home with me so I did via the CD. The CD came in perfect condition and was well packaged.
