Though you’d never know it by listening to them, VulGarrity have a few things in common with 70’s soft rock superheroes The Carpenters. A multi-instrumental brother and sister team born and raised in Connecticut, experimenting with a number of different band lineups for years before coming to the realization that they’re better off as a duo. Having reached that realization and redefined their sound, they are continuing on their completely relentless mission to play music and have a good time. Sticking to that mission has earned them some noteworthy accomplishments over the past several years - airplay on both XM and Sirius satellite radio, as well as MTV’s hit show “Made”, nationwide tours that have brought them from East to West Coast and back again, sharing the stage with a diverse range of acts (The Misfits, Mike Doughty, Days of the New, King’s X, etc.), and so on. More importantly, they continue to create music together and capture audiences with their borderline schizophrenic, highly energetic instrument-swapping stage show and captivating demeanor. The future is bright for this pair of non-conformist, left-of-center siblings with an undying itch to put their artistic stamp on the world. As the Carpenters so famously said, “We’ve Only Just Begun”.

15 songs is alot to digest in a week..but it was very enjoyable,,Where to begin? Yeah there are moments where you think White Stripes, a sec and a half of No doubt, shades of B52s.Those thoughts don't last though.Shawn and Tracy have something ALL their own, The music is at first simple yet clever, then as it sinks in and I was able to look at a title and KNOW the song,I realised two things.
1) There are more HOOKS on this album than Col.Henry Blakes hat(AND jacket).
2)Whatever song you choose, the Apex of these guys are when they are BOTH singing.
Future hits will be, Killer in the Back Seat,Cult of the Moon God,From Underground,Gone Streaking,No Coin,World of Sin...Fire's Tears is something special to me as it shows an optimism and style that will carry over to future records(hopefully).Don't get me wrong,ALL the songs are good. (I just picked 7 hits)
This band will be signed this weekend. If not I'll personally make sure they are real soon.
The most infectious, cool, riff laden record of the yr.
The ONLY thing Vulgarrity needs is a touring drummer and a major label..They need nobody to write songs.. oh...and a cool roadie. (wink)
