Vunkturi is a coast-to-coast collaboration of musicians and producers united by the funky lounge vibe of Downtempo Electronica and the drive to bring some playfulness and variety to the genre.

Based in Chicago, Vunkturi is helmed by Scot Cortese, a musical mad hatter who's tracks have recently played on Sex and the City & Malcolm in the Middle. Current Vunkturi players include vocal diva Jane Zabeth, Portland synth maestro Andy Brown, local congero Chamuco, and LA producer Freddy Childress.

With Light Source, Vunkturi's debut, the group set out to push Downtempo to it's polar limits. Check out "Cool Cats", an action-packed spy tune that makes the 007 theme sound like a dull waltz. Or "Ya-Dabba", a fun and lively lounge splash. Then nod off to the ominous dirge "Galavanter" or drift away with the disc's evocative closer, "Going Places". With more variety than a used record bin, Vunkturi's Light Source will thrill you at every turn.
