Album Notes

My name is Sergio, I'm a traveller of both time and space, as well as a music fan, musician and home recording artist.

My album 'Ultraviolet Sun' features over 50 minutes of original material. The vibe is mostly mellow, laid back and easy listening in a variety of styles ... a mix of rock, blues, folk, new age, psychedelic tribal fusion, and progressive metal.

There are a variety of voices, sounds, and intruments featured on this disc. Beyond the usual guitar, bass, and drums ... there is also piano, harmonica, sitar, tabla, horns, flute, didgeridoo, string arrangements, and various sound fx.

Worth a mention is the epic 6th song called 'Shamans Vision', weighing in at about 35 minutes ... its like an extended EP within an album. Shamans Vision is a unique journey through space and time which will open doors in your mind, and take you to exotic places far, far away.

Several international guest collaborators also make an appearance on this album (in order of appearance):

Doc Wilson: Vocals/lyrics on 'Good Life Gone Bad' and 2nd vocals and harmonica on 'All you got is now'.

Brad Preston: Piano on 'Good Life Gone Bad'. Synth and drums 'Shamans Vision/Muses'.

Creative, inspired, and rare these days

Rarely do you stumble upon an album that puts creativity to the forefront such as this release from Serg does. This shows the rewards of leaving behind forced and contrived song writing. From the very first listen you will realize the sound of Serg’s creative abilities. After my first listen I had to listen through it three more times just to make sure I took it all in fully. Ultraviolet Suns title track has a very soothing appeal. With a layer of distorted and harmony guitars painting the canvas. The second track, All You Got Is Now, starts out with a very full sound and creative vocal space. It’s short, but very to the point. Moving on to Good Life Gone Bad I realized that this will be my favorite song on the album. The vocals and slide guitar performances really couldn’t fit any better than they do. As this song goes by you realize even more that you are listening to a piano part that makes this tune even better. If two things were ever made for each other, it’s this song and the piano parts…simply dead-on. Gone Too Far has a very “up” groove to it. The solo steps out. The lead vocals with the background vocals are almost as if there are two hooks simultaneously happening. The two vocal parts remind me of a Q&A session. If you like a song that has many different things coming at you at once, Sunkiss might be the one for you. Sunkiss has some very cool breaks and is very laid back. Shaman’s Vision…the final song, I call it a journey, is an epic arrangement of pieces creatively blended and fused together. Its aspects will take you along with Serg to the heights of the earth to the depths of the sea, across the different cultures of our world, and right smack down to the cement and concrete of the largest city. Do not miss this tune, there’s not many around quite like it. In summary: Anyone who is looking for music that it not obvious and predictable NEEDS to give this CD a listen. It’s packed full of creative segues, passages, and sound scapes that are sure to please. Through Serg’s journey he has brought some very talented and creative artists along with him to paint the back drop. All performances flow very well together. Hat’s off on a fine release Serg. This shows that Serg is not only an excellent guitarist but also a very gifted songwriter, and has a very creative mind.

I love this CD!

I've been admiring Sergio's music for a couple of years now. I've always thought he was highly creative, and this CD is no different. Sergio definitely has a talent for putting one in a relaxed mood :) The opening track "ultraviolet sun" makes me feel very peaceful and at ease. The final track, "Shaman's Vision" has bits that I've heard before, but compiled into a huge epic piece that really demonstrates how eclectic and creative Sergio really is.

The CD is very well done. Definitely the softer side of Serg. Good mix and mastering. All the instruments are heard clearly. I expecially like Serg's guitar work and the use of the Line 6 Variax. The whole CD has a very 60's vibe to me. Just layed back and mellow. Good job Serg. Keep it up!
