Whoa! Just simply whoa! Imagine prog rock from the 80s returned with a heavy added crunch of some of the latest stoner bands, plus catchy melodic themes and a voice that sometimes sounds a bit like Ed Kowalczyk od Live - but in a more positve and heavier way!
More, please!

An all-out nuclear launch.........
author: Michael Canter SonicJive.com
Real rock & roll is not dead. In fact, Vyrus is as good as modern-rock gets: thunderclap guitars and shotgun drums, and Bryan Foley’s scalding vocals, all discharged in ass-to-the-wall fury and union, unrepentant and effusive. How refreshing to hear genuine rock & roll again.
It is what it is – this relentlessly heavy self-titled LP is an incredibly exciting release. Layered, churning riffs combined with tight hooks create a dense, foreboding sound that you can really feel. This is an all-out nuclear launch in an era of tired emo bands and rock & roll posers that doesn’t disappoint.
The ultra heavy debut album begins with a brilliant barrage. Free Your Soul immediately introduces the band’s signature sound - crunching guitar riffs and Bryan Foley’s intense vocal delivery. XPAND is an explosive and intimidating in-your-face masterpiece, arguably the finest track on the album. Guttermind has more of a classic-rock feeling to it and a great middle-eastern/Led Zeppelin/Kashmir opening to boot that shifts unpredictably into an all-out guitar and vocal assault that begs to be played as loudly as possible. Unforeseen is another instant favorite.
Vyrus is certainly not for the faint of heart. However, listeners who like their music heavy should find the album hypnotic; my sole recommendation would be to put it on, press play, turn it up to 10, and prepare to be awed.
