notes
'Legs Eleven' is the latest CD from electric jazz drummer Chad Wackerman.(Chad has played with Frank Zappa, Allan Holdsworth, Andy Summers, Steve Vai, James Taylor and John Patitucci among many others). The project was composed and recorded in Chad's second homeland Australia, and is a reflection of the time he has spent in the country. Featuring Chad's urgent and exciting drumming, the CD has an openess which echoes the Australian landscape. 'It's very hard for me to separate the music I play with the way I feel and my surroundings - especially music that has improvisational elements in it', Chad says. The musicians involved in the project have been playing together as an ensemble for the past seven years. James Muller is one of Australia's finest young guitarists, Leon Gaer on bass is a studio heavyweight who originally hails from L.A. and Daryl Pratt, the electric vibraphonist, is a highly regarded jazz and classical percussionist. 'Legs Eleven', with its percussive edge, rewards the listener with an intense and exhilarating experience.

Great cd with a different vibe.
author: SullyI liked this cd a lot.The opening song sophies beach is the best. Ive been a fan of Chads since Road Games. I recently discovered the duets W Terry Bozzio which were amazing. As far as this cd, The playing is great.I would have liked the guitarist to be a little less like a Holdsworth clone but I guess thats the language Chad works best .
just when you thought it couldn't be any better
author: daanchad amazes me again with this HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
chad knows about evolution
author: scott garveythis is a great cd , unlike most drummer-led solo cds !! chad leaves his contemporaries in the dust !!! when have weckl or danati dared step out of their boring chops for chops-sake nonsense !!! bravo chad !!! your drumming and compositions are very inspiring and fresh !! i look forward to the next !!!
Great!
author: JensAs usual, Chad has made a great album, with some great musicians. I'll recommend this to everybody I know.
The listener experiences great joyful playing of the musicians
author: Harald ReutinThe players here show that it is a real joy to play music. The music is beautiful and gets you in real good mood. Get this cd, but be careful because you get addicted to it and you have to get more.
Great Fusion Album
author: Aran O MalleyWith more concern about texture this time Chad is certainly pushing his drumming into new areas
Great ! Never Disappointed with Chad !!
author: Brian JonesThis CD has a great opening song. I really enjoy the vibes in the music. The drum breaks are great interludes.
beautiful fusion cd
author: kwesterholtBeautiful fusion cd from drummer chad wackerman with amazing collegues on bass, guitar and specially vibes. The second cd with the four musicians. Sounds as if they grew together to a real band, the tracks beeing musically homogenous, the compositions beautiful but very subtle, and chad wackerman is getting better and better and better ...

A laid-back production, based up on, mainly, the guitar- and the vibe-lines playiing, and answering eachother. Fairly restrained drum-arrangements for being a drummers cd, but it all turns out really groovy
I expected nothing less, well done
author: Dave SantanaThe recording is top notch. I love the instrumentation, and the players. I have Chad's other discs and love them all. I also play drums and have been following Chad for quite a few years. Great job! I'm ready for his next CD.
highly recommended
author: Manfred DikkersThis CD features some great drum work (as always) from Chad Wackerman, in combination with beautiful melodic vibes and tasteful guitar solos. Not the usual overplayed smooth and dull stuff you find so often, but refreshing, tasteful music. In fact, this is the best fusion music that I have come across in ages, definitely worth buying. If you like this music, I would also like to recommend the CD "Scream" which is another great release featuring basically the same line-up.
great cd
author: Robert Jan De BuegerI believe his best record so far!
A must listen to for any serious fusion drummer!
author: Garey Williamsmelodic and muscular
author: Joe BarbarottaIntense, creative drum patterns are what Chad is all about. You'll get no "drum machine" patterns here. As usual Wackerman's composing shows a flair for subtle melody lines which are deftly handled by vibes and guitar. This is not a soloist's "wankfest". There are solos but they are all intelligent and make sense within the song structures. Get this album!
