This isn't your "usual" kirtan chanting, if you consider Krishna Das and his posse to be usual. It's not all gussied up with Western instruments and such. And that's what is really nice about this disc — its simplicity and the beauty that is revealed through it. Using only harmonium and tabla, with a little violin here and there to support her voice, Wah! pours out her devotion, first to her own guru, then to Lords Krishna and Rama. She covers a lot of familiar ground with the traditional "Govinda Jaya Jaya," "Shree Ram Jay Ram," "Sita Ram," and "Krishna Govinda." (June 2002)

Great album -- very mellow and soulful. The singing is hauntingly beautiful, the accompaniments spare and folky (my favorite kind -- I am not a new-age music fan). Am very grateful to my yoga teacher for bringing this into my world!
