Album Notes

The story begins in November 2002 when founding members Eric Asmar, Josh Gavin, and (then lead guitarist) Eric Johnson begin writing with rhythm guitarist Steven Holland. For the next few weeks, the band would be busy auditioning different vocalists, none in which seemed to be what the guys were looking for. Unable to find their "front man," the band makes the decision to move forward with now lead vocals/ guitarist Holland and Johnson supporting with backing vocals. This seemed to have to work for the time being...
Fast forward to October of 2004. In the past two years, the band has been constantly playing live shows under the name waitingforbrantley. Some in which were supporting national acts such as Atomship (Wind-up) and Fall as Well (Imprint). The band has survived the loss and gain of two members while still finding the time to create their first full length album. With new lead guitarist/ backing vocalist, Brad Wells, and the later addition of guitarist Tyler McCraney, the band is stronger than it ever was before.
"If anger is the new happiness..." was independently released October 12th 2004. The process took over 7 months, showcasing the band's authentic blend of "emotional" rock and produced mostly by Holland and Wells with the help of engineer Mark Black. Waitingforbrantley has remained true to themselves over the past couple of years relying solely upon being a great live band. Since then, nothing has changed. The band is just as passionate about their music today as they were 2 years ago. The band has gained respect from everyone they have encountered including label interest and radio airplay throughout the southeast. The future for waitingforbrantley is unknown but one thing is for sure...this band will continue with their hard work and passion for what they create and will stop at nothing to gain the success that some can only dream of.
