Waiting for Helen is a sensational Blues/Rock band. Although not a new band, as they have been together for 10 years. The band is comprised of four best friends, together for 25 years, with the first 15 years of their friendship spent with each member in a prior commitment with other powerful Blues/Rock bands in the New York-New Jersey area. Still, their love of playing music and their close friendship eventually lead them to a time, some ten years ago, when each finally had the chance to get together as a true band for the first time. The results lay waiting for you to discover.
The tight rhythm section these four guys, Jerry, Joe, Pete and Tony lay down is amazingly tight and driving. Lead singer Helen and their special guest vocalists lend their honed talents to bring the lyrics to life. Two improvisational guitarists crank out some stinging guitar solos. They are not kids, nor do they sound or play like kids.
One listen and you'll be a fan of Waiting for Helen for life.

Fans of great Blues Rock Guitar Playing will love this CD. New Jerseys best Tony Mazza along with Pete Salomone give a all out guitar attack in the styles of Johnny Winter and Lonnie Mack.Great songwriting and Vocals on tracks like Ghost,Listen and Rainy Day Blues. Nice Lead Vocals by Helen Harkak along with strong bass playing by Joe Van Winkle round out this CD.The wait for Helen was worth it.

When it comes to rnb, jump blues, rock n roll, this band, WAITING FOR HELEN, brings new meaning to the word sheer heaven. The sound is tight from the first track "GOOD GOOD WOMAN" to the last "LISTEN". Tight bass, drums and rhythm underneathe sizzling vocals and tasteful leads and licks that will have you up on your feet, tapping your toes, in no time.
These guys aren't shy either when it comes to diving into other styles as well, like the reggae flavoured "GHOST" and spanish flavoured (Genya Ravan like vocals)"ROUND AND ROUND (one of my faves) but boogie is what they do best. If you can't dance to this you can't dance to anything.
This is a wonderful delicious album, a must have for die hard fans of rnb, blues laden rock n roll, with crisp clear powerhouse vocals that bring it all home in a sound that will surely have you going back to the beginning to listen again.
The title says it all: IT's ABOUT TIME. Yes, it sure is!
