With their eclectic musical styles and stand out vocals, WAKING TERA seeks to set the music scene ablaze while captivating the ears and minds of their listeners. From the ashes of their former bands, the members of WAKING TERA came together in early 2010 to create the perfect collaboration of hard hitting music and earth shaking screams with intoxicating melodies and poetic song structure. With influences ranging from Sevendust and Deftones to Tool and Killswitch Engage, the band set the groundwork for creating a uniqueness that is so desperately missing in today’s music scene. With the debut of their EP “Live at Circle Sound,” WAKING TERA brought forth a snippet of the musical prowess that was to come. Now with the release of their first full length album "Envision" their sound is impeccable and very marketable with each member showing their talents song after song! Soon to go back into the studio still looking to improve on their art, this band will undoubtedly be unstoppable!
“Waking Tera was our second act of the evening, and they were clearly a crowd favorite. With great stage energy and band chemistry, along with a singer who looks a bit like Sgt. James Doakes of Showtime’s Dexter, this band was nothing but fun to watch. This band loves what they do, and it wa...s obvious to everyone in the venue. The vocals transitioned from passionate singing to rapping to hardcore screaming. This band reminded me of a beautiful love child of Killswitch Engage and Misery Signals. My favorite moment of the show occurred during the last song when I glanced at the drummer and saw him circle head banging while playing drums. Now that takes talent. And badassery.”

Waking Tera is one of the Carolina's top up and coming acts. Each member has brought their own style and talent to form a group that has been consistent in selling and packing venues for quite some time. Waking Tera's sound bridges the gap between several distinct genres. You get a little bit of everything with this group but its consistent. Waking Tera's music can be associated with bands such as: (early) Soilwork, Sevendust, Evans Blue, Killswitch Engage, and even Five Finger Death Punch.
That sounds a bit crazy but listen and you'll hear the instrumental similarities, the vocal pitch and harmonic adhesion of all of it. Heck see it live and get ready for overload. -- Jonny Lawson
