Album Notes

February 9, 1964. It's been said that a million bands were born that night, the night The Beatles first appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show. For me as a 6 year old, it was like the world went from black-and-white to color. The Beatles were a window to a world of light, love, humor, beauty and creativity; a world very different from my own. Suddenly, anything seemed possible.

Needless to say, I am not neutral about this music; I hope these tracks convey even a small fraction of what it has meant to me.

David Waldon

Note: 'Jealous Guy' is not technically a Beatles song. John Lennon wrote it in 1968 as 'Child of Nature', but it didn't make the White Album, so Lennon rewrote the words and put it on his Imagine album 3 years later, as
'Jealous Guy'.
