Walt Andrus " Loves A Song " CD.
There are 11 songs on this CD reflecting love in its many shapes and forms. Walt Andrus interprets these love songs in his way raising the questions of requited and unrequited love. Walt finds the solutions to these questions in his interpretion and warm singing style. The musical accompaniment on this CD ranges from trio's to big band, to string orchestra. All the arrangements on this CD are by Rich DeRosa with 2 exceptions- " A Christmas Gift " A Torrie Zito arrangement and "You Go To My Head " a Chic Ciccetti arrangment.
Walt Andrus is from the Bridgeport, Trumbull, CT. area. He has been singing from the age of 16 beginning with school bands graduating to the Sonny Costanzo big band and as fate would have it was introduced to Buddy Morrow director of the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra by Sal tootie DeBenedetto CEO of Sweetheart Records-and the rest is history. Walt was with the Dorsey Band for 12 years leaving the band in the latter part of 2003.
Walt Andrus, in this CD, sings 5 vintage standards and accepts the challenge and daring task of singing 6 new songs ( 6 in the tradition of the standards including "A Christmas Gift " ). These 6 songs are from the musical " Love's A Song " The book, the words and music by composer, writer Al Petrone.
