ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Bio for Wanda Obermeier

Wanda is an award-winning songwriter as a top five finalist for Song of the Year International Songwriting Competition for November 2006.

In August 2005, Wanda was accepted by World Vision as an Artist Associate per recommendation of Tom Jackson who met Wanda while competing as a songwriter at Babbie Mason’s Music Conference in May 2004.

With a music catalogue containing over two hundred songs, Wanda has recorded and self-published 20 songs and had airplay in 28 states. In addition to Internet radio, her music is being translated and soon to be broadcast in Poland.

Since 2001, Wanda has been a member of the Los Angeles based A&R company, TAXI, and has had several songs forwarded, three of which were assigned to an independent music publisher in Nashville.

As a teenager, Wanda sang “Oh Happy Day” as a soloist from her youth choir at the Whitehouse in Washington, DC for the inauguration of President Jimmy Carter. Wanda frequently tells how she caught a vision of one day going back to the Whitehouse to sing again…and her most recent song entry for the National Day of Prayer Task Force has renewed her vision. Co-written with two artists from Georgia and California, Wanda will be releasing that song as an independent artist next spring.

Wanda has enjoyed worshipping in seminars, campgrounds, schools, and churches, regardless of denomination.

“From upbeat to reverent to tender, Wanda’s music comes from the depth of a heart totally sold out to our Lord Jesus Christ.” Joyce Schuetz, National Day of Prayer Coordinator for Northcentral Wisconsin.

“Incredible and unforgettable day of worship and praise.” Pastor Justin Hutts, Battleground Bible Church, West Lafayette, Indiana

“One of those artists you don’t forget after the first time you meet her. The Holy Spirit is truly alive in her life!” Rick Stengl, Minister of Youth and Children, Trinity Lutheran, Wausau, Wisconsin

“I’m so inspired by what you and others are doing along with World Vision for the hungry children and others in need throughout the world. You have provided greater insight into how they are making a real difference in the lives of real people. After all, this is what Jesus did and has called us to do.” Kelly Mercado, WTMR, Camden, New Jersey.

Wanda’s family sponsors a boy from Jerusalem West Bank Gaza through World Vision. $30 each month is contributed to his family to help sustain them. In addition to sharing pictures and letters, prayers are also exchanged. Personal connection: that is the real

difference when faith meets action, compelled by the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. For more information, view Wanda’s website: www.adnawpublishing.org

Outside her musical career, Wanda has taught Spanish at public and private schools, middle, high school and college levels and was a foreign exchange coordinator for several years, organizing home stays for teenagers and adults from the United States, France, Spain, Germany and Ivory Coast, Africa.

Wanda is fluent in Spanish and hopes to translate some of her songs. She speaks French and German poorly, yet her knowledge and quick acquisition of foreign languages have given her an international distinction among American songwriters.

A Milwaukee native, Wanda married Dale Obermeier in 1982 and were blessed with their one and only son, Kyle in 1988. They live in the small town of Mosinee, WI.
