BILLBOARD MAGAZINE has chosen The Wandering Endorphin as one of the best independent artist in the Midwest for 2005.
"If you think you've heard the way an acoustic guitar is to be played, think again.
This singer/songwriter is like no other" -Rising Music
"...the most interesting and innovative acoustic music in Chicago" -ChicagoGigs.com
"I personally bevieve it's a crime if DJs across the country do not play this CD"
-The IN. Observer
"The best way to describe Destination Euphoria from The Wandering Endorphin (also known as Jim Green) is country-blues mixed in with a little folk. From haunting numbers like "Sing Again" to heartfelt and melodic love songs like "You've Changed," Green proves himself an abundantly gifted and capable musician." -The IL Entertainer
"Lots of interesting guitar work, I like his voice, it works!" -Richard Milne 93XRT Radio
"Firefly" has been chosen as one of the TOP 100 SONGS of 2003 on www.xsgritaradio.com and has been played on NPR.com (National Public Radio)!
"I think Jim Green makes love to his guitar at night, because their is no reason for someone to be that close to a piece of wood and strings and emit the amazing sounds he does out of it. Jim has an amazing talent to provide an original sound." -OneKindOfRadio.com
The Wandering Endorphin is "The 2004 Guitar Idol Champion".
"The Wandering Endorphin is one Jim Green, who prostrates himself over his acoustic guitar with the same fervor some people reserve solely for sex or chocolate cake. Tracks such as the furiously-paced "Stress" elicit the aural equivalent of wide-eyed, open-mouthed staring; it's almost impossible to hear all the sounds Green coaxes from his instrument. The intense talent required to actually make those sounds is impressive indeed." -Spledid.com
"Green's shows are a music and visual treat for the audience." -Kane County Chronicle
"..he continues his tradition of astounding the audience" -The Daily Herald
Chicago native, Jim Green, a.k.a. THE WANDERING ENDORPHIN is a 35 year old singer/songwriter who decided that the well-worn paths that other musicians adhere to were not the proper routes for his own creativity. His weapon of choice is the acoustic guitar, although he is no casual strummer. Rather, he attacks his instrument with both hands, drawing forth percussive rhythms, harmonics, and double pull-offs with a piano-like approach that often sounds like one more guitar than is actually playing. This is all done in real time with no sampling or looping devices to be found. The result is powerful acoustic folk/rock that is musically and visually stimulating. His vision lies somewhere between the solo guitar work of Michael Hedges and the songwriting of Kurt Cobain and, while it sounds like an odd pairing, Green is talented enough and genuine enough to seamlessly meld the two approaches into one cohesive whole.
Green has been a full-time musician for the past 2 1/2 years, playing venues of all types from libraries to rock clubs. He performs his music so passionately, it has won him the title, "Gand's Guitar Idol Champion 2004" and the attention of singer/songwriter Phil Roy who has written hit songs for many well know artists such as Ray Charles, and Mavis Staples. Recently Green has found himself recording along side, two-time Grammy Winning Producer Jim Tullio, on Roy's latest cd Compared to What.
Although Green began this journey as a solo act, his latest CD, Destination Euphoria, finds him in the company of all manner of supporting players. Cello, dobro, keys, bass, drums, and harmonica all make appearances on the record, which is in stark contrast to Green's first release, Undistorted Light, which is a purely solo effort. The additional musicians allow Green's vision to be heard in sharper relief, and bring out in the songs flavors ranging from pop to classical to Americana.
This is unusual, and compelling acoustic music and it is inevitable that it will connect with its audience and continue to grow its fan base. Jim Green is a freely flowing river of musical ideas and emotions and that fact, coupled with his advanced guitar technique, is why you must seek out THE WANDERING ENDORPHIN.

I love Jim Green...aka "The Wandering Endorphin". His energy, showmanship and musical prowess...that's right, I said prowess...always amazes me. I would comment specifically about this CD but my woman took it and won't give it back. There's no bigger or better compliment than that!

I was visiting Chiago this past weekend and came upon him playing on street corner, and bought the sample CD, and was totally impressed with his music and the depth of the words in Our Love Song. He has a wonderful talent and without second thoughts i know he will be sure to go far, you can tell it comes from the heart and soul.

In a time when products are contrived, manufactured, and shoved at us off of an assembly line, true originality is a welcome breath of fresh air. Beginning with a name that screams of orinality The Wandering Endorphin is exactly that kind of welcomed musical presence. Using nearly every inch of his guitar, whacking, slapping, and tapping combined with savage stumming and meandering melodies, the Wandering Endorphin cooks up a musical feast for all to enjoy. And just when you think you have tasted all that he has to offer, he steps up to the microphone and with a cool rasp in his voice, he slowly transforms the atmosphere for anyone within listening distance.
For all that can be said about the solidly crafted and intelligent songs on his new CD Destination Euphoria hearing this musical trickster is only half the story. One needs to be there and see for themselves why the mark of The Wandering Endorphin has been left on the minds of those who have been there before. So the next time your musical appetite acts up and you don't have a taste for anything in your current collection, turn on Destination Euphoria, or better yet, hop in your car to the next live show and give yourself a real treat.

The virtuoso guitar work on Destination Euphoria by The Wandering Endorphin is as surreal and dreamlike as it's title. Jim Green's amazing fretboard fingering technique and simultaneous rythmic drumming on his amplified, hollow body acoustic is both exciting and euphoric, not unlike the actual effect of endorphins on the human brain. Green literally lives up to his performance name.
