Formed in the early part of this decade, Warp Technique are a collective of producers & musicians based around the world. The group is made up of Bill (keyboards, programming), Tom (frequency modulation, percussion), Darryl (percussion) and Stephane (guitar). The group operates primarily from London and Berlin, with songs emerging from a mixture of studio sessions and online collaborations with different artists and producers.
Bill started producing music in 1992 when he formed Sonar Audio, a record label run with then musical partner Ben Garner (now working as Benny Ill of Horsepower Productions). They found fame on Harthouse Records as Bill&Ben, and since then he has worked in various styles from acid house to breakbeat, minimal techno to ambient, electro to dub. Projects he is currently involved in: Friends Electric, Makako Project (SambaLoco/Trama Recs Brasil) and Freeq Unique (Bitasweet Recs UK).
Warp Technique’s recorded output has been limited up to now to a remix of Pitch Black’s Big Trouble Upstairs, but all that has changed this year, with a version of Arab Star being released on cult American label Waveform, and Make Animals Happy gracing Wakyo’s On A Dubmission Voume 2. With a busy touring schedule booked in for 09, Warp Technique are sure to be playing you sometime soon.

Make Ears Happy
author: Jeff Bolton
I've been listening to electronic music for almost a decade now, and very rarely do I have the chance to stumble upon a hidden treasure like this. Most of the stuff that I hear is tried and true...there is so much mediocre stuff out there that its hard to pick anything good out of the sea of 'meh'.
I'm so glad I gave Warp Technique a chance. Their beats just ooze dubby goodness, and its easy to get carried away by the spacey ambience alone. They remind me a lot of The Orb, but with a sound entirely their own.
Its hard to justify spending money on music these days and this is one of the first CDs I've purchased in the past couple of years. I would love to see Warp Technique continue to produce amazing music, because with a debut this good the future is looking very bright. Jump on the bandwagon before they get big!
