Album Notes

Tucson's trash rock heroes (and heroine) are a veritable supergroup of Tucson rock veterans. Guitarist/ vocalist Kristina Bohn fronted the seminal all female sludge rock goddesses Flavor Cage and went on to fame and fortune in Clovenhoof. Guitarist Mike Bushey and bassist/ vocalist Darren Johnson have been rocking as a team for years in such hardcore outfits as Helldriver, Great American Tragedy, Mölton Leather, and Thunderosa. Drummer Jeff Mann relocated to Tucson with the NY grunge thrash outfit Buttzilla and went on to play in metal monsters Sonic Titan... that is, when he's not busy with his gig as a roadie for KISS.

Brought together by a common love of trashy rock and roll and cheap booze, Wasted Aces do their best to pay homage to the groups that inspired them. "The bands we love, like the Stooges, Motörhead, Ramones- they were trying to play the music they were into, but they just weren't good enough." says Bushey. "And it came out sounding like their own thing! We wanted to sound like KISS, Aerosmith, and Black Sabbath- but we screwed up and came up with our own sound."

The 4 immediately found a common bond and set to work rocking, performing all over Arizona. The band has shared the stage with groups like Custom Made Scare, Whiskey Bitch, and 80's arena rockers Styx. Wasted Aces loves performing live and loud, with the beer cold, the amps on ten, and the fog machine cranked up. "The bottom line is that this band rocks 50 people as hard as we rock 500, or 5,000," says Mann. "We always give it our all, no matter what," Bohn states. "For just as long as the bar tab lasts."

The Aces just finished recording their 12 song debut CD at Waterworks Studios, with legendary producer Jim Waters twiddling the knobs. They guarantee a good time to be had by all who jump onto their wildly careening, out-of control bandwagon. Designated drivers need not apply. These Aces are here to stay.
