Wayde Cooper made his debut as a solo artist with the all-instrumental album "32nd note festival of shred", released 2001 on Fossil Records. Wayde's demo CD of "32nd note festival of shred" was featured in Mike Varney Hometown Heroes article in Guitar World (March 1994). Mike Varney had some very positive comments about Wayde's first instrumental CD, "...Wayde's current demo shows that practice pays off, for he has attained a technical level equal to that of many established artist possessing a full complement of speed-picking, legato, string-skipping and wide-intervallic chops."
"32nd note festival of shred" contains 9 all-out instrumental rock songs. Every song has it's own identity! Shredders will especially like the fact that Wayde doesn't hold back on any of the songs. It rocks!

What he does, he does well. Wayde Cooper put together a nice bit of shred on this CD. The title certainly defines the CD as there are some cool 32nd note solo sections. But I also dig the cool grooves he lays down on songs like Illicit. Nicely done.
I'd like to hear him diversify a little. Though the songs are well done, they sound a little one-dimentional on this first CD. But there's always room for growth in any artist, so I'll have to pick up his later CDs to see where he goes. If you like shred and nothing but, you won't be disappointed with this CD, that's for sure!
