Album Notes

Wayward Monks cook up a cauldron of jazz fusion and prog rock with odd-meters, improv, and strong melodies-- fiery and passionate sometimes, spacy and cerebral other times. The songs are rhythmically and stylistically varied, yet each is distinctively melodic. Before you know it, you’ll be humming at least some of the songs. At the same time, you’ll hear a driving cauldron of sound that weaves an ever-changing musical landscape. Their new CD, Surf Seven, was recorded at Live Oak Recording Studio in Berkeley, CA.
