Album Notes

Weather is a whirlwind of music brought to you by the sounds of the changing and unexpected world of today. The music represents the lyrical aspects of Bob Dylan, with a voice compared to the raspy Janis Joplin and to the powerful Grace Slick (Jefferson Airplane), along with the tortured souls of Fiona Apple and Linda Perry (4 Non Blondes). However, a different element emerges with the lower bass tones of the guitar, the use of the theremin, and of the harmonica. With a simplistic collaboration of the bass drum, the music creates an atmosphere filled with love, struggle, and humanity. It is as if the music were growing from a concrete parking lot with the intent of turning into a forest.

With Weather's thundering presence, she delivers an unpredictable performance for all. She is currently playing at local Los Angeles venues and local benefits. This past June, Weather had a one week tour in New York City. To name a few, she performed at The Bitter End, The Friars Club, Arlene's Grocery and the 2010 National Puerto Rican Day Parade.

This October, Weather released her debut album "Animal", which was recorded in Santa Cruz, California by Michael Konopka. Weather is ready to take the world by storm.

Reviews:
"She strums her electrified acoustic guitar, lets out an unearthly Moroccan Arabic wail. And she's on with a voice that can rock the earth. I become a fan instantly. The Arabic wail, the deep contralto voice (or maybe it's alto?), the angst, the depth, the being at home in deep dark places, the unique selfness she brings. She can't be more than 21, yet she sings with the experience of the ages. Her singing has the force and power of black magic and God mixed together."
Anna Maganini - AN ARTSY NIGHT ON HOLLYWOOD BOULEVARD, ARTSY SINGERS AND MORE
"It became clear from the first chord struck during her performance that this solo folk artist has the gift of power and humanity in her art. One of the most intense contrasts one can observe in Weather’s onstage persona is her ability to carry herself with the free-spirited sweetness of a youthful heart, while speaking the words of maturity and wisdom regarding her life experiences, and the deep world that she taps into through her music. She becomes larger than life, almost as if no space can hold her intensity. Her phrasing is so forceful, that it warrants a second, and a third listen. At one moment, she is speaking to you, and in the next, she is off on a call to something larger."

I admit that I was tentative when I first heard about Weather. But, as soon as I heard her music my hesitations melted away and I was transported to another level of music that hasn't been felt in decades. Weather's voice is powerful and can command a room with the multiple inflections and intonations... Weather's music is as beautiful as she is and just as unique and incredible. You'd only be doing yourself a favor to at least take the time to check out this amazing up-and-coming artist! Simply amazing!
