We Happy Few formed in 2007 in South West London and quickly gelled as a band. All members had experience in bands, regularly playing live and have a passion for blues and folk music. This led to regular gigs around South West London and they quickly gathered a committed following, who enjoyed their folky blues sound and passion for live performances. WHF have had radio play on many stations including, Tom Robinsons ‘ Introducing’ show on BBC Radio 6, House Rent Boogie on Resonance FM, and were featured on Blues Radio UK. They also did a tour of The Isle Of Wight in April, mixing regular club gigs with skiffle style busking sets on the streets.
Their fourth album 'More Empty Boxes' is a stripped back acoustic project, bringing blues music back to its roots, with a contemporary spin on the genre. It feature’s the playing and writing of two members of the full band (Adie and Cam) and is a follow on for their 2010 release ‘Empty Boxes’. These simple yet effective arrangements mix slide and finger style guitar with ukulele, double bass, and baritone vocals.
