Album Notes

The Weight was formed in 2003 in an effort to "keep the original spirit of rock and roll alive".

These five, uniquely talented musicians met while attending high school in southeast Michigan and began rehearsing endlessly perfecting their musicianship and songwriting skills. Adding horns broadened their musical horizons and allowed them to explore more musical genres.

With their sound rooted in classic Rock 'n Roll, Blues and Motown, you can hear influences of The Beatles, Moody Blues, CCR, The Band and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young on their self-titled CD, "THE WEIGHT."

Live performances feature memorable classic songs by The Eagles, Temptations, The Byrds, Stevie Wonder and more.

Performing their family-friendly shows at dances, parties, fairs, festivals, charity events and in support of their debut CD "The Weight" led them to be chosen as the premier band to play for 4500 invited guests at the 2005 Detroit International Auto Show at Cobo Arena. They are continuing to perform in support of their new CD and are focusing on concerts and festivals.

The Weight's audience continues to grow with each new show adding fans of all ages
