Manfred Paul Weinberger was born in Steyr, Oberösterreich in 1970. After training as a craftsman, he enrolled at the Brucknerkonservatorium in Linz and at the Royal Conservatory of Den Haag, studying music with Ingrid Jensen and Ack von Rooyen. Since 1997 he has spent several study visits at the Banff Center For The Arts in Canada. In 2002 Manfred went to Pune, India to study Indian Rhythmics at the 'Nad Roop Institute' with Kathak Dance teacher Shamatai Bhate.
He has appeared at the Vancouver Jazz Orchestra Project 2000, 'Upper Austrian Jazz Orchestra' and in connection with the project 'Austria meets Canada I to III'. He has performed with musicians such as Kenny Wheeler, Don Thompson, Karl Ratzters and his band 'Heat the Beat', Allen Praskin, Hugh Fraser, Arnie Chycoski, Ingrid Jensen, Peter O'Mara, Michael Gibbs and Slide Hampton.

Following `Personal Colour´ and `Spirit of Old Europe´ - `Dancing Ganesh´ is the third CD publication of the project `Austria meets Canada´. The compsitions balance the instruments characters within this band concept and emphasize the quality of chamber music in a contemporary jazz context. The sound patterns subtly integrate rhythmic structures from indian classical music.
