Album Notes

Currently active in the New York metropolitan area jazz scene, flutist Mark Weinstein performs with chamber jazz ensembles in styles that include Post-Bebop, Afro-Caribbean, Brazilian, North Indian and Klezmer. Mark records and performs with stellar jazz and world musicians including guitarists Romero Lubambo, Jean Paul Bourelly, Richard Boukas, Vic Juris, Ed Cherry and Brad Shepik; pianist Omer Sosa; vibraphonist Brian Carrott, bassists Mike Richmond, Santi Debriano, Nilson Matta and Carlitos La Puerta; percussionists, Cyro Baptista, Cindy Blackman, Paulo Braga, Jamey Haddad, Cecil Brooks III, John Santos, Pedrito Martinez and Francisco Aguabella.
As a trombonist Mark worked with Chick Corea, Cal Tjader, Eddie Palmieri, Tito Puente, Herbie Mann, Maynard Ferguson, Thad Jones/Mel Lewis, Lionel Hampton, Clark Terry, Larry Harlow, Louis Ramirez, Charlie Palmieri and the La Playa Sextet, and partipated in jazz workshops and rehearsal bands led by Charles Mingus, Joe Henderson, Duke Pearson and Chuck Isreals.
