ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
After spending four years mining for pop nuggets with acoustic duo Welmore Mile, Peter Welle has emerged as a solo artist. In celebration, Peter has grown a formidable beard and intends to become the Rasputin of the Minneapolis folk-pop scene.

With a beat-up duffel bag of acoustic tunes both resonant and immediate, Peter set out to make THE SILENT ERA, his solo debut, an album that above all else sounded real. Nothing Pro-Tooled about it. The sound of 3 or 4 friends and musicians huddled around a small studio together, layering guitar lines and tight harmonies - music both spontaneous and intimate.

Set THE SILENT ERA next to CHOICES COLLIDE, Welmore Mile's full-length album, and GOOD TIMES & PUMPKIN PIE, their EP of goofy pop ditties, and you have a sturdy, diverse catalogue. A closer look reveals that Peter's work has shown a consistent love for melody, songcraft, and beauty. His music is layered and personal, all the while remaining accessible.

And did we mention his beard?

This is very soothing and good listening music
I find the guitar work outstanding and hope to hear more from the group in the future. I have made this CD a nice addition to my Christmas gifts to give.

Waiting for more!
