Pete Peterson, Eileen Kozloff and Kellie Allen are the Well Tempered String Band. All dedicated old-time musicians and singers, Pete, Eileen and Kellie bring new energy to traditional American songs and give that old-time feel to contemporary and original material. Pete Peterson is an award-winning banjoist and master of Maybelle Carter-style guitar-picking whose playing and singing previously have been documented on the Heritage and Marimac record labels. Over the past 35 years, audiences have appreciated Pete's compelling live performances of the old-time songs. As a songwriter, Eileen Kozloff comes to the band with a true appreciation for the beauty and staying power of the old-time songs. Kellie Allen, who is from a large family of singers and musicians from Kansas with roots in Kentucky, started playing and singing old-time music with her family while she was in her early teens. WTSB is proud to perform American roots music originating from such seminal old-time and early country artists as the Carter Family, the Stonemans, and the Louvin Brothers. The new CD is already a favorite among those who enjoy old-time harmony singing.
