Album Notes

Welmore Mile have a harmony-filled, acoustic pop/rock sound that is both intense and immediate. Reflecting themes of loss, love and faith, their songs remain intimate and resonant.

Anybody who knows Peter and Jon will attest to the fact that they won't remain serious for long. No conversation is safe from their peculiar sense of humor with an affectation for the bizarre, obscure, and awkward. Not suprisingly, their approach towards their music is no different. Songwriting sessions in Welmore Mile regularly detour into these realms, with quick songs tossed off for their own enjoyment. During live performances, many of these songs revealed themselves to be crowd favorites, allowing Peter and Jon to exhibit a side to their personality that few musicians expose.

When they decided it was time to record these tunes with the help of producer Jake McAlpine, Welmore Mile chose a unique set of priorities. They weren't precious with the songs or the performances - they wanted the songs to sound energetic, fun, and authentic, rather than polished and perfect. The result is a rootsy, acoustic jam through 6 catchy tunes that will leave listeners with their toes tapping and a puzzled smile on their face. The harmonies and melodic sense that they displayed on their debut album Choices Collide are more than intact, but combine those melodies with subject matter ranging from the midieval church to obscure presidential trivia to terrorized water parks, and you have a wholly unique and endearing listening experience.
