Toronto singer-songwriter Wendy Leung embraced music at a remarkably young age, following in the virtuosic footsteps of so many of her nation’s iconic tunesmiths. A background in classical piano and an astute lyrical sensibility marked her formative musical upbringing. For all that quintessential back-story, Wendy’s singular worldview and a diverse roster of musical influences – from sweet, feminine piano balladry to driving, tuneful indie-rock – have converged to shape a sound and songwriting style entirely her own.

Cast in the mold of such compatriots as Sarah McLachlan, Emm Gryner and Sarah Slean, Wendy pens personal songs that simmer with heartfelt tales of relationships waxing and waning.

Wendy\'s first album, A Place to Start, was a compilation of songs written between 1998 and 2000, and introduced audiences to what has become the foundation of her songs - a blend of piano, vocals, and raw emotion.

Her sophomore release, This Time, matures in its diversity, introducing guitar, bass and drums to enhance the sound and complement the lyrical content. This album includes the foot-tapping pop song You, the aptly titled Jazz, the melancholic ballad Truth, and the harmonically dense Silently (The Game).

Wendy released her third album, Stop/Start in Spring 2008 and with her band, the Iron L(e)ungs, is now playing shows in support.
