Wendy Morgan

Singer/Songwriter Wendy Morgan was raised on the South side of Chicago and moved to Southern California at an early age to pursue her music and acting career. In 1988 Ms. Morgan returned to her native home Chicago to reconnect with Family, graduate from DePaul University and open a one woman show. Shortly after Ms. Morgan was invited to sing with Von Freeman at the Jazz festival. With a love of both R&B and jazz Ms. Morgan began writing her own music and collaborating with talented local musicians.

In 1996 her debut CD “Say Wen”, was released a collection of self-penned originals in an Eclectic Jazz/Pop style. Included “Free Aida”, “Don’t let me down” and “ I just let go” co-written with pianist Frank Caruso that received regular airplay on WGCI radio and American Airlines. Anyday Now co-written with Tom Krol won a Billboard achievement award in 1997. In 2005/2006 Ms. Morgan received an ASCAP writer award. Ms. Morgan performs at many special events, concerts as well as festivals and local venues in Chicago.

Wendy is also working on two CD projects, runs a monthly showcase for singers/songwriters “The Local Brew” at The Beat Kitchen and In 2006 Launched her company The Vocal Gymnasium Inc., as well as, raising her 6-year-old son as a divorced mom. You can visit her website at thevocalgymnasium.com.
