Album Notes

Wendy Rule's second album combines her extraordinary voice and poetic lyrics with epic orchestral arrangements that feature the work of cellist Rachel Samuel. The album opens with the anthemic 'Deity", a homage to the Goddess in all of us. Not afraid to explore the full depth of human emotion, Wendy moves from heartbreakingly tender tracks such as 'Night Sea Journey' and 'Bliss' to the raw pain of 'Full Moon in Scorpio'.

See what the press have said about Deity below:

"Beautiful is a word not often used to describe the work of independent Australian artists… but Wendy Rule’s bold second album, Deity, deserves no lesser description. "
The Age Good Weekend, Australia

"There’s no one quite like Wendy Rule. Her albums are always visionary journeys full of the extremes of passion, from the most gentle to the most sweeping."
Rip it Up Magazine, Adelaide

"Dark, sensual, sonic theatre...compelling stuff."
Rolling Stone Australia

Blessed by a voice that purrs and soars…. The Age Good Weekend, Melbourne

"Every so often Melbourne throws up a singular talent, someone previously hidden amongst the well-established musical tribes, someone possessed of a unique vision. Wendy Rule, the vocalist, songwriter and visionary behind this remarkable album, is such and artist."
Beat Magazine, Melbourne

"Wendy Rule gives meaning to the word unique… Sweeping melodies, emotive vocals and the ability to haunt the mind like a lingering spirit."
Beat Magazine, Melbourne

I have ALL of Wendy Rules Cd'S and play them so much I needed replacements... I begin almost every morning with Meditations on the Elements and often listen to another after dinner ...There is something so deeply moving about her voice that my 90year old mother with Alzheimers tries to sing along... even though she doesn't remember the words, her inner core is touched by the voice to this fantastic artist
