Bird of Beauty
author: Keith Slocum
What a delightful CD! Wendy Zoffer has put together an appealing mix of music from different genres and styles including Broadway, pop, and Latin in a compilation that provides listening pleasure each time it‘s played. The melodies are familiar, but the treatments are fresh and varied, and the mix of musical styles and tempos keeps the listener attentive and smiling. My particular favorites are the title track and “Wave”, with “One Note Samba” a close third. Wendy’s clear flute combined with the fine playing of the accompanying trio make this a CD well worth owning.

An engaging and tastefully-rendered project!
author: Joe Ross
Jazz flutist Wendy Zoffer and her expert accompanists chose some of my favorite jazz standards for this project. These include Autumn Leaves, Black Orpheus, One Note Samba and Wave. She also demonstrates her proficiency playing tunes from Jerome Kern and Stevie Wonder. She plays with lyrical spirit, adding some improvised interpretive twists along the way. Her accompanists are first-rate. The sound on this album is also very nicely crisp and clean. Well done to Wendy Zoffer who has released an engaging and tastefully-rendered project!
