Born in 1988 Compton CA, Joseph Mendoza moved up north to the Bay Area when he was 12. By then his biggest influences were in music,

“It felt right to pursue it. I started writing poems about anything and everything, the art of rhyming was what drove me.”

In junior high through high school Mendoza was in and out of rap groups in attempt to find himself as a musician. It was 2005 when he created Wes Nile and ran with it.

“I always had the confidence of an artist but it wasn’t until I met Scotty B that I learned the self respect part. I was fortunate enough to get together with him and create ‘Back 2 the Basics’, An album made to meet our highest present expectations of music. The rest is to be continued.......”
