Album Notes
Charlie McDaniel and Jim Rollins have been making music together for nearly ten years,we added Kathleen McDaniel on Bass and formed West End String Band. We wanted to make a real CD with musicians we gig with, instead of hiring professional studio musicians who play on countless recordings, to give a REAL sound to our debut project. Matt Purrinton is a innovative mandolin player who gigs with us regularly as a four piece. Bob Buckingham on Fiddle, and Jared McEntire on Dobro are our choices when we play five piece, they both add tasty background and solo work to fill out the big band sound for big shows.
Our debut project is intended to introduce folks who haven't had the West End String Band experience, a sampling of all different styles we play at different venues. Our live shows range from totally traditional bluegrass sets for real bluegrass audiences, to more progressive bluegrass and new acoustic music for the younger late night crowd downtown. Enjoy!!
