Hawaiian slack-key guitarist and composer, Jim “Kimo” West brings his excellent performing and arranging skills to the table in this award-winning collection of slack key guitar Christmas songs. A stunning hand-painted block print cover by Caren Loebel-Fried tops off this attractive package.
Kimo is one of the few masters of this beautiful acoustic guitar style known as “ki ho’alu”, literally “loosen the string”. Besides performing traditional songs, he is best known for creating new compositions and tunings and his original slack key work has been featured in Disney TV movies, Honda commercials, documentaries and feature films.

Love this album. Mauna Kea Sleigh Ride, the only song I was unfamiliar with, is now one of my favorites. The familiar classics are all beautifully played and beautifully arranged, and are as warm as a cozy fire. Great cover artwork too. This CD travelled with me this Xmas so I could play it during family dinners. It got a lot of compliments. Highly recommended!
