The music world is making room for diverse new multi-instrumentalist singer/songwriter Cody Westman. Cody has spent the last 5 years writing and crafting his sound, which is a unique one at that. His characteristic voice and on- stage energy are noticed by many, and with the release of 2009’s “I Am Cody Westman”, doors are beginning to open. Using loop pedals and effects on the acoustic guitar, he can transition effortlessly from a traditional unplugged sound to a raging delay filled solo and back again, attracting attention from his listeners. His efforts have brought him over 500 shows in 5 years, festivals in British Columbia and Edmonton, a solo tour of Western Europe and an opening slot for Leon Russell (Joe Cocker, The Rolling Stones).

“I Am Cody Westman” encompasses many of the styles that make up Cody as a musician; Blues, Rock, Ska and Classic Songwriting. Cody’s unique voice and concise, dynamic songs hold the guitar driven album together from the opening glorified blues number “I had a Lover” to the heartfelt closer “Moving On.” The third track, “Walk Alone” is a fan favorite with quick rap-singing a la early Jason Mraz, where “I Am Not Alone” is a more tribal, epic anti-war anthem. “I think this is a good representation of what I’m all about and I look forward to getting out and touring behind it!
