Album Notes

COTTONFIELDS Recording Studio : The intent on putting together our 20X30 studio with the last of new analog equipment, 8 Track Fostex 1/4 tape to Nachmaci MR2 cassette tape deck was to produce jingles. Then use that money to erect a for real building. Two insurances sale man working on the jingles and, they could not sell one! However friends started coming by wanting to record.
First was long time friend Hugh Ellington. Playing in bars since long before he could by a beer. Developing a strong contact with the audience form the small clubs many with out a stage. Hugh has a charming Elvis like sound or is that our Crockett County Tennessee beat that Scotty More did give to Elvis! That Scotty got from his school bus driver when on hot days on the way home, he would stop the bus under a shade tree and play three songs while the bus cooled down. A million songs one beat that became history!
Hugh's unique way of looking at the Blues with a country boys simile comes through in his music. It will make one cry and love every tear! on what will soon be Nashville's team song: Handful of Songs
Covengiton Pike Toyota is a radio spot or jingle it is also some good music!
Add another long time friend Mike Deadman on lead guitar! Two notes about Mike! Three days after graduating high school 1977 we were in Carl Perkins studio in Jackson Tennessee. After the third song Engineer Raymound Anthony picked up the phone and called Carl, in about 20 minutes Carl was next to me in the control room at AreLou and stood back so as Mike could not see him as the band finished the last half of the song they were playing when Carl walked in.
When the song finished Carl steeped into the studio and i hear him ask the band to take a break he wanted to talk with the guitar player.
Carl offed Mike a spot in his band starting in three weeks! Mike turned him down! Saying he just graduated from school and wanted to spend the summer with friends/band and, they had a jig in Miami FL in two weeks!
While in Florida Greg Allman walked up on stage and gave Eddie Fessimer a C note to let him borrow his axe so as he could play with this guy! Stating "He is the ONLY one ever to make me look up to see if it was Dewayne or not! Now then IF i can get another friend Bobbie Whitlock and Mike together with maybe one of Bobbie friends with the initials of E.C. Would the big boys at last find there replacement for there lost legend?

Back in the Valley, Vote Joe Taylor, The National Anthem by Sherry Haywood Tritt One beautiful lady of class and charm! No way words would ever come close to describing her voice Crystal Candy is the best i have. This is one of those you have to do it your self things! Sherry's Husband Stewart engerred her cuts on the West Tennessee Music Samplour witch is no big deal since he owns the largest sound company in Tennessee and has more equiptment than we could ever use IF we had a building to record in! Sherry's next album is going to be 10 songs right of the Baptist song book.

Mountain of Blues, Long Red Hair, Flicker to Her Flame have Lisa Joe Hardin Lee on vocals. One amaging song writer, singer! Folk, Bluegrass, White Blues, but yet uplifting get back on the track go turn some more laps and see what happens! Jim Cantrell on fiddle.

Lucky Black Jack another Lisa Joe song sung this time by Marshal Hendrix A great song for a new western movie or gaming pros!

These are only a hand full of Lisa Joe's songs she has stacks and stacks of note books of songs and can kick out three on any subject You give her in 10 minutes.

Monkey on my Back by Sammy Hayes is pure Rock N Roll with another of those great guitar work outs! Cut with a Peavy 8 inch practice amp turned wide open, distorting in such a nice way! With a woden box covering it and the microphone! No nubie to live shows as Sammy has done em with Janis Joplin, Big Brother and the Holding Company, New Riders of the Purple sage. Sammy's cousin Kin Laxton produced 19 gold alubms with CBS Nashville in the 60s.

These are all the cuts we got in our little Cotton field Recording Studio that was from the first just for jingles then all we could use her for was a control room because we had no room inside the building so we went out side into a great big old cotton field and made it our studio. Because Kin was building a new studio in Millington Tennessee his home town as well as his life long friend Bobbie WhitLock! Where we got four cuts with Bobbie three with Bill Marshal of the BAMA band on drums. We are wroking on paper work to get those cuts released soon.

Four engenires worked on WTMS:
Tony Mac Crutchfield life time audio service tech certified by RCA, Motorola, and premerming Zenith consumer warranty service at the age of 13 in 1966. Studio Electronic Tech.
Dave White Lock 14.5 Years monitor enginer for the Who? starting two weeks before WOODSTOCK.
Stewart Tritt started doing live sound show before he was 11 Now owns the largest international touring sound company in Tennessee.
Barry Earnhart framer first class just like making music as well!

Well now 20 year have passed since we recorded those tracks and, we still do not have another building. Hopeful we can sell enough cuts to do so! The sit back relax and watch the show as we sail cd after cd after cd afert cd into the music world with the 3562 Miss America Song Birds that live in Crockett and more coming along every year. 50 good ol boys that live to play down at the VFW on Saturday night! And No telling Who Else might show up?
As of 1/6/12 we have added another Crockett Countryman Jerry Phillips yes of the Elvis Phillips' his "Daddy~O~Dewie" was the hottest thing on the air waves back in the fifties! His playing of Elvis' first record ever on the radio, end his reign an introduced ''THE KING of Rock N Roll to the World" Jerry never would have anything to do with the music world until now! He has told me a thousands times "That is your dream, not mine!" But at last he did say "IF there is anything i can do to help Just Let Me Know" and, we sat down and wrote a song!
It will be one of the first we work in if we ever get a building up.
