Album Notes

Formed in the summer of 2001, We The They first came to meet in an abandoned horse barn, just outside New York City. Word of mouth had brought the boys together and now they were to test the chemistry. A mutual friend had arranged the meeting and agreed to wire up the barn for electricity. Amps were rolled, guitars tuned, drums unfurled, and first chords strummed. Blackout.

Sometimes a good story is better than a good song, so the group laughed it off and arranged for a future get together. This time it worked, and the musical chemistry was as good as the conversation. They quickly put their chips together, bought a van, and hit the road with the change leftover in the seats.

In the years that followed, several independent releases, tours, and vans had earned the group a growing following. With help from the internet and college radio, their songs were spreading like wildflowers to eyes and ears all over the world. The boys even earned a guitar endorsement from Rock Hall of Famers, The Ventures.

Their latest release, “The Shabby Road Sessions,” was produced by Roger Greenawalt (Ben Kweller, The Pierces...) on perfect days for a game of catch in Brooklyn, New York.
