Dan Kostelnik and German guitarist Michael Arlt met in `95 at Philadelphias `Ortliebs Jazzhaus´, where Kostelnik was working with Bootsie Barnes ( sax) and Billy James on drums. They did their first tour in Germany with the help of drummer Duck Scott – jazz organ legend Shirley Scott`s son - in `96 and got back together for extended concert tours once or twice a year, since.
Meanwhile they recorded live and in the studio for BR (bavarian radio station) and MDR and made 4 cds, `East Coasting´ (`97, with swiss saxophonist Roman Schwaller) and `The drivin` Beat´ (`99, with percussionist Josè Cortijo from Spain), `Live´ ( `02) and `A New View´ in 2006.
`Live´ also marked the first meeting with a strong new voice on drums: Scott Neumann (`Newman´) from Brooklyn fits right in and adds fresh sounds.
WE THREE `Moment To Moment!´ - their 5th cd in the 14 year band history - is the latest result of this successfull longterm - and transatlantic - cooperation.
