Album Notes

"Johnston's Theory" is the sophomore release for the band, Wheeliebar. It features a heavy sound that combines many influences of the band including Kiss, Husker Du, Living Colour, Ozzy, and Anthrax as well as a cover of Black Sabbath's "Into the Void".
The band, from industrial Southeastern Wisconsin, was formed in January 2001. They have opened for national acts: Incubus, Papa Roach, Sevendust, Trapt, Cypress Hill, Phantom Planet, Tantric, Living Colour, Custom, Local H, D.R.I., No Warning, Slaves On Dope, Presence, Pigface, Bender, Animal (featuring former members of W.A.S.P., Randy Piper and Chris Holmes) and Perv 54.
Wheeliebar's music is currently getting airplay nationally (49 stations), leading to a debut at #42 on the metal radio charts on Friday Morning Quarterback, and a tie for the fifth most added band in metal for the week of July 12th, 2003. They have played shows nationwide including Nashville, New York City, Milwaukee, Chicago, Kansas City, Boston and were selected as a finalist in the 2004 Budweiser Milwaukee Battle of the Bands.
"High Volume Therapeutic", Wheeliebar's debut CD was nominated for "Best Metal CD" and the song "Sick With It" was nominated for "Best Metal Song" in the 2004 Just Plain Folks International Independent Music Awards, out of 10,000 CDs, 140,000 songs submitted, from 85 different countries.
The music of Wheeliebar has also been featured in the documentary film, "The World's Best Prom" filmed by OVO out of New York City and it has been used as background music for an action computer video game. Wheeliebar's song "Sick With It" is featured in a motocross video by DirtTV out of Canada, now available, and 346 Extremez "Revoked" Motorcycle DVD.

I fail to understand how a band of this talent hasn't been signed to a major label and has a good spot in Ozzfest or something similar. My only complaint is that I don't live close enough to them to see them play live.
