The Wheels bring together the full spectrum of American music-blues, rock, classic rock, soul, folk, country and bluegrass, and deliver a varied and eclectic mix of sounds and styles that is uniquely their own.
Mike Esposito is an internationally known acoustic, electric, national steel, lap steel guitarist and dobro player. He has played with renowned musicians like John Hartford, and has opened for John Hammond, Bill Monroe, Doc Watson, Norman Blake, Luther Allison, Dave Van Ronck, Asleep at the Wheel, Johnny Copeland and many more. Mike has recorded three solo CD’s and has appeared on over thirty albums as a sideman. Mike wrote and sings several of the songs on The Wheels new CD.
Vern Miller plays bass guitar, upright electric bass and tuba with The Wheels. He is also the bassist with legendary sixties band, The Remains, who were the opening act on the 1966 Beatles’ tour. Vern has played with such luminaries as Donna Summer, Peter Wolf (J. Geils Band) and James Montgomery, and has also appeared on shows with Traffic, Sly and the Family Stone, Joe Cocker, The Beach Boys and many others. Vern penned and sings lead on some of the songs on The Wheels new CD.
Bob Cianci has jammed with Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame members The Yardbirds, members of Bob Dylan’s Rolling Thunder Revue and been a member of several area bands including the notorious garage band Saturday’s Garbage. Bob plays Drums, accessory percussion and washboard with The Wheels. Bob is also the author of the book, Great Rock Drummers of the 60’s, published by Hal Leonard and is the Features Editor and principle contributor to Classic Drummer magazine.
