L.A. based alt-rock quartet The Whiskey Saints are set to release 24 Hours on their own Unemployed Records as the follow up to their 2008 debut West. 24 Hours highlights the Saints’ raucous, visceral performance and the band’s melodic songwriting style on the album’s thirteen new tracks. 24 Hours was produced by Jim Dineen and mixed by Grammy award winner Joe McGrath (BB King, Green Day, Ryan Adams, Morrissey).
The album features the Saints’ gritty, guitar driven first single, "Before My Time." The song made its world premier on AOL’s music blog in early April when the site exclusively posted the video. Described by guitarist and songwriter David Bloomfield as "a tune appropriate for rioting, war chants or generally rockin' out like a madman," the video can be viewed now at http://www.thewhiskeysaints.com
Bloomfield adds, "Where West is the type of album that will get people dancing and is essentially a fun party record with good tunes, 24 Hours is the sort of 'headphone record' where you can just get completely lost in the grandiosity and sonic goodness of the vocals and instruments all blended together to create something wonderful. This album is the product of taking great melodic songs and really allowing them to develop musically with minimal restrictions."
Of 24 Hours, lead singer and songwriter David Sparrow states: "The new songs such as 'Before My Time,' 'Always In My Heart' and 'The Gift' exemplify the maturation process from the last album West. 24 Hours has a more cohesive sound because the guys and I have realized who we are as a band."
