The Story...

This is the beginning of a massive musical journey by Jody Whitesides. A Natural Leap Forward is his splash into the Modern Hard Rock world. Originally conceived in a little bungalo in Sunland CA, where he now calls Southern California his home. Jody is considered to be "A punky, funky, pop stew." - Music Connection Magazine.

Jody's newest release is "A Natural Leap Forward". He is currently playing live shows and running a recording studio. Jody is leading the way in bringing music to the 3D world of surround sound. Jody is always adding new shows and will be promoting his next CD to radio.

For "A Natural Leap Forward", Jody was joined by Paul Kaiser on Drums. The two met when a regular drummer needed a replacement. Bass was recorded by Jody, always been that way since Matt Bissonette mentioned Jody's skills were more than adequate. Lead vocals were sung by Jody. Additional background vocals were recorded also recorded by Jody.

This CD is A Natural Leap Forward in a vision that is to include an ever expanding variety of sounds. A Natural Leap Forward contains a real variety of songs, but retains a sound that is cohesive. Every CD that Jody has recorded to date has ventured into new instrument textures and themes but retain a sound that continues to evolve from disc to disc.

Jody's vocals have often compared to Doug Pinnick of King's X, Ben Haper, or Dave Matthews. Aside from the vocals, musically "A Natural Leap Forward" is more modern in production. On it Jody matches the flavors of Linkin Park, Metallica, or even Good Charlotte.
