Album Notes

"Forrests Whitlow's new CD, Sunrise in Reverse, gives us music that warms the heart and words that set us shaking an angry fist. This is graffiti on the walls of power done in harmonies, articulate acoustic guitar and beautiful melodies. Here are images you won't forget, tunes you will sing to and an album you will keep in the player a long, long time. This CD demonstrates Whitlow's seasoned songwriting ability. There are Rock N Roll songs of lost love and violence. There are songs of wit and philosophy. And there is even a soothing song of hope. He has proven once again to be the master of alternative acoustic rock. Sunrise in Reverse shines."

What a gift of an album!

This is one great set of songs! The more you listen, the more wisdom you will hear. Earthmover is a powerful testament. And Philsophy of a Waitress is a subtle, poignant piece. You will listen again and again to Forrest's clever lyrics and soulful melodies.

Lyrics that make you think, a melody that makes you sink...

... into a state of introspective peacefulness. Clearly one of Forrest's best. He may have moved on from a true folk sound but he has definitely taken his music to the next level. To me, "Cocktails and Machine Guns" is the jewel of "Sunrise In Reverse". Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

Sunrise in Reverse is really swell. I love it!
author: Fran Windler
Sunrise in Reverse is really swell. I bought it from Prosperos shortly after it came out. I love it! You told me I would though. Inventive guitar mixed with the more familiar in a way that makes one crave hearing it again. I really like your acoustic sounds and I've always been a sucker for "xylaphone" or triangles, sleigh bells, tamborine... I like that you can do falsetto singing on Puppet Presidents and hanger on. Reminds me of Matt Wilson and Trip Shakespeare. Praise for getting Rechelle Malin in front of a microphone again. She always mixes just right with your voice. Fine bunch of songs Forrest but you know that. Next generation should be on the radio in a "perfect world." California has a stunning melody that surprised me and satisfyingly your vocal goes to a sweet place that most reminds me of Matt Wilson! I love that! Way to go! Swell production too! Some folks wouldn't tred the political waters but I'm glad you and the Stones do. Honestly though, I probably won't buy the Stones. I'm too bitter about the current political monolith in this country and all the religious pandering and ball bats they keep swinging. I can't understand why some of these folks aren't making licence plates! Your CD certainly speaks to that.
