this cd is funny

When you look at the title of this album, and the hint that it could be about 'barflies' and/or farce - and the titles of the 10 tracks, you know it's got to be funny.
When you listen to Alex Whitmore sing these songs, his voice has that smile in it, which promises you the songs are going to be funny - and they really are.
Alex doesn't let the listener down in any way. He's singin', tellin' the story, and you smile and you feel absolutely satisfied with the story and punch lines in the songs as they unfold.
The music is good too, melodic and tunefully suiting each song. This is a great album and if I had to choose, my favourite tracks would be "Alien Spaceship" (I've heard all the drunks' excuses now!!) "Chiggers", and "He Might Sound Like Merle".
Alex doesn't sound like Merle - he doesn't sound haggard, but he sure knows how to put across a story, just like Merle can.
The Barfacist is a great light-hearted look at life and fulfils exactly what it sets out to do - makes you smile with appreciation. All the more so, if you have the album in your music library.

I honestly laughed out loud listening to the songs on this cd, every last one of them is well thought out and insightful. His other cd is not comedy so when I heard this I was delightfully surprised, I didnt think he could out do his other cd, but this one is equally as good and I am sooooooooooo glad I got it! Well done. This one is a must have and I give it 5 stars out of 5

Laugh till you cry
author: Pokey Harris
How does he know what a dog is thinking? How does he know how aliens behave. Well, however he knows...he nails it. This cd is flat funny. Alex seems to know how to turn love rejection from whiney country twang into a hilarious introspective look in the song Eye of the Beerholder. If you like humor at all, you will love this.
