Album Notes

Wildsteed® is an original band whose sound combines it's roots of country and southern rock with a down home American flare. Their combination of up-tempo and spirit lifting songs transcend generations, and appeal to many diverse musical tastes. They have a unique ability to communicate their message of music to their listeners and to involve the audience in their shows. Based in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of Northern California, Wildsteed® has performed as a headlining and feature act at many venues across the United States. Their Bio includes numerous bookings at state and county fairs, nightclubs and casinos. They were recently one of the main bands at the Los Angeles City Marathon, as well as being the opening act for many great performers. They have shared the stage and studio with many top performers including Jackson Browne, Steppenwolf, Etta James, Player, Strawberry Alarm Clock, Country Joe, Members of the Allman Bros. Band, CCR, The Hellecasters, among many others. They have built an extensive mailing list and fan base through out the United States and Canada.

As one writer for the Los Angeles Times said "This is one live show that is a must see event"

Another writer for The Los Angeles based Music Connection magazine wrote: "Their music has been described as Grateful Dead meets Merle Haggard"

Recording Magazine comments on Wildsteed "as being male vocal, country rock in the style of Jesse Colin Young or early Doobie Brothers. The short delays and pre-delayed reverbs really create a sense of depth in the mix, particularly on the awesome Leon Russell era, Delta Lady style female vocals. Well done!"

Wildsteed's latest album Nothin' Better To Do brings the complete band back to their roots, with lots of extended jams, and playing off of each other's energy. The intricate solo work of the guitars, fiddle and keyboards brings you back to the days of hard driving Southern Rock. The vocals and mandolin, put together with Dobro bring out a new and fresh sound to the styles of Americana and Bluegrass. This is one album that takes you on a journey from the lonesome sounds of bluegrass through the door into a jamming Alternative Country style hard to be described.
